So yesterday was the 45th anniversary of the walk on the moon. It was also the day that our bunk got to go to Bernie and Phyllis’s house for dinner and TV. It just happened to coincide with the day that we took "one giant step for mankind". My memory of that historic event will forever be tied to Balfour Lake Camp and the incredible childhood that I was so privileged to have had. I can't believe it was 45 years ago or that i am that old....lol Time goes fast!

Hi, Richard. Browsing through 'Balfouriana'... I was (exchange) counselor in 1969, Bunk 14. Togethet with co-counselor Stu Ludlow, we and our boys watched the landing on the moon in my bunk, on a small protable black and white TV. What a milestone was that! We must have met in camp in '69, although I do not remeber. But then, it has been more than 50 yrars since... All the best to you, Jan Schraepen.
What I remember most about 1969 was that the New York Jets and the New York Mets both won the Championship.
