Tell us about yourself

What fond memories I have of Balfour Lake Camp, Bernie, Phylis, and their son Russell who was my age in my bunk both years I attended. I've been living in New England for 27 years which, according to local custom, still makes me a tourist. My wife (a native originally from Maine) and I have an 11 year-old daughter. I look forward to sharing memories and photos of two great summers. My profile picture is of me and Rex, our family dog. • Hello, David - Daniel Guss here, who played Golde in Fiddler on the Roof. I believe I'm on the far left in the photo you posted. I'm writing about my camp musical experiences for a blog article for the TDF (Theatre Development Fund) website, and was wondering if you'd mind if I sent that photo in with my article? I'd credit you as the source, of course. However, if you'd rather it not be used, I won't send it in. You can post here, or e-mail me at daneguss@yahoo.com.
    Thanks!
  • Hi David- My brother Barry (WA2B) and I both vividly remember going to see the station you set up in the storage shed at Balfour. I recall being impressed that you knew CW. We both finally passed the 20WPM morse code test, but owe a lot of our interest in amateur radio to that time in Balfour. 1972? I don't get on the air too often, but try and do some contesting on 20m every now and then just to make sure my wire antenna still works. My wife and kids have ZERO interest in the hobby. Regards! Alan
  • David, great to hear you're doing well. I'll never forget your ham radio & listening in to stations around the globe back in the early 70s. Russell is doing very well. He lives in Westchester, NY with his wife & two boys...I'll be sure to send your regards. I see you live in Boston, MA. Beware - he's an even bigger Yankee fan than I am.
