Believe it, or not, my years at Balfour had a profound impact on my life. I realized that NYC was not the center of the universe, contrary to popular opinion. It also taught me how to live, cooperate and get along with others. My favorite thing to do at Balfour was backpacking and mountain climbing. To this day I am still doing those things and I include my family. I have hiked, backpacked and climbed mountains all over the world and I now live on top of a mountain.
I didn't have many friends at Balfour, but the ones that I did have, I remember vividly to this day. My friends were Alan Kaufman, Ken Gould, Mike Lumpy Mechanic, Barry Schanker, Andrew Schoenberg, Mitty Lieberson, Stu Pfeil. My mentors were Bennet Lipper, Jon Pfeil, and Gary Fader. If I didn't include you in my "list", that's just the way it is. Alot of Balfourians were kind of cruel to some folks and most didn't give me the time of day. Regardless, I endeavored to have a good time and I think that I accomplished that.

I remember you, too. And Barry Schanker, Todd Glickstern. That was the last year for the camp. I'm friends with Ross Tenzer and Harvey Kojan on FB. How are you doing these days?
I remember you Alan. You where my assistant counselor, Ross was my counselor. I will never forget how you rolled your own cigarettes. I still remember you taking us camping and hiking to the algae lake.
