MINERVA - A century-old hotel on Route 28N burned to the ground Sunday evening in a spectacular fire that authorities said was suspicious.
The Mountain View Hotel, a three-story landmark in the center of town, exploded in flames late Sunday afternoon, witnesses and officials said. The flames spread to two neighboring structures and could be seen from several miles away.
No one was seriously hurt, fire officials said, although several firefighters were treated at the scene for minor injuries. One firefighter was taken to the hospital complaining of chest pains; his name and department were not available late Sunday.
